Meeting Minutes
1/11/12
by Dave Hecker
Call to order: 7:36pm
New members present: Jim Januszewski – 57 Bel Air frame-off, 80% done; Keith Baumgartner – 73 Camaro Z-28; Dianne Quirk - 68, 98 Corvettes (just found a third).
Officers: Ron Bernier (President); Chuck Commerford (Treasurer); Orville Bell (VP); Dave Hecker (Secretary); announcement of committee chairpersons made as well. John Nystrom is relinquishing his post and we are looking for another member to assume that chair.
Budget Report: Applications for FCC schol-arships are going out to all Lincoln Way High Schools in the next two weeks.
Newsletter-Everyone received newsletter. Correction to minutes from November: none. Larry Claypool moves to approve; Karen O‘Connor 2nd‘s.
Old Business
Website – Larry Claypool: Website is up to date with lots of pictures, mem-ber‘s page, etc. The site is an excellent resource for members and non-members alike. There is a full map of cruise night parking. Fire marshal indicates emergency vehicle traffic could be impeded as cruisers currently park, we are going to have to deal with this issue this year.
Newsletter Deadline – Please submit all articles by the 20th of the prior month. Please send in your content – we‘re counting on our members for this content.
Dues – 2012 FCC membership dues are now due. $15 and Larry has the membership forms.
Christmas Party – food was very average, but overall was a good time. Perhaps we can get a Christmas party coordinator (Karen O‘Conner volunteered for this post) for future events and venue selection.
New Business: Flowers for deceased mem-bers/spouses – what can be done that could be more meaningful than flowers? Suggestions included: we could name a scholarship after a deceased member (or spouse)? Perhaps send a donation to the charity of their choosing. We could start a memorial board of members that have passed. Discussion tabled until next month. Our bereavement budget is $75 so, please bring your ideas.
It was suggested we give garage tour hosts a one-year honorary membership which we will begin doing.
Cruise night – we need cruise night volunteers. We will meet in February to discuss efforts and what needs to be done. This year we have additional responsibilities around setting up barricades and policing parking. We‘ll need to figure out where we can store said barricades. Regardless, we need more help. Bob O‘Conner has volunteered to be Cruise Night Committee Chair-person. THANK YOU BOB! We‘ll need volunteers for a meeting to be held at 7:30pm at Tinley Park Bowl on 2/1/2012. We‘ll also set the cruise night schedule so if you are aware of special events or dates we can coordinate or avoid that date. We can also use raffle items (Pizzas, oil changes, restaurant coupons, etc.) please keep merchants in mind for this. Paul Q. brought open-end wrench sets as a give-away, for example.
Suggestions for future club activities – if this club isn‘t fun, we‘re doing it wrong. Any sug-gestions are welcome. Garage tours are great, but what about other ideas? Dave Mosier – sug-gested a road trip to the Pontiac museum along Rte 66. Road trip might be a good idea. Dianne Q. recommended we do something around wounded warriors. Please bring your ideas to the next meeting with non-traditional things we could do.
Chrome – many members have come forward asking about a group re-chroming order. Does anyone know about someone that may be a candidate? Chuck VanderVelde used Quality Plating in Sterling, he wasn‘t cheap. A&R in Bedford Park is good candidate as well (with good references from our members). If you‘re interested in participating in a volume deal, please email Ron Bernier and we‘ll see if we can work some good pricing.
Other discussion: Karen O‘Connor – The club has received an invitation to go to a 2012 scholarship provider‘s recognition breakfast at 8:00 am on 2/14 at LWN High School.. Open to whomever represents the club for scholarships. Dennis Heywood is interested in representing the club.
Larry has new club membership rosters, if you want one electronically, please email Larry Claypool.
Treats provided by Dave and Carol Mosier – THANK YOU! John Nystrom volunteered to take an open month for treats. He was assigned July, as that was the only month available.
Adjourn: Chuck Commerford,
2nd Paul Quattocki. 8:23pm – meeting closed.
Next Club Meeting

Larry Claypool
The list in last month’s issue of folks who hadn’t renewed yet brought a flurry of renewals in at the January meeting. Still see an 11 after your name on the mailing label? Then, as far as I know, I haven’t received your 2012 FCC dues as of 2/1.
We’re off to a great start this year with several new memberships; please welcome
Lew & Linda Carrozza
